Head CC Question

I just cc'ed my 914 2.0 heads. They seemed large 57! Is this close to what others have gotten, I just got the heads back from RIMCO. Just curious if I'm in the ballpark!

you can use some of the formulas on this page to figure out if you have the right compression ratio.

57cc seems about reasonable. I think mine were 58cc, and Jim Thorusen measured his at 60cc.

And mine are 53cc with a .040 deck. I calc'd that out to 9.5 or so. Let me know if that does or does not work out for you mathematically. Oh, and 96mm on the pistons.

Hi,

Mine were 60cc. Possible that your heads have been flycut?

Yes, RIMCO calls it surfaced, but I call it flycut. Zeke, 9.5 is correct for your specs. I'm just used to VW hi-po heads that are usually in the low 50's. They actually measured close to 58. I'll set deck height tomorrow.

Thanks!

Same here, 58 ccm after a mild flycut on my heads...
