914 HIGH RPMs issues
Before dropping engine for oil cooler seals replacement, car idled well.
Dropped engine. Replaced seals. Engine back in the bay. Started and RPMs at WOT level. Video for clarification attached. https://youtu.be/w-46HJQH29A Besides vacuum leak, which i cant locate yet any other suggestions what could be the problem ? |
A massive vacuum leak. Plus possibly a mixture problem.
With the MPS vacuum hose unhooked, the MPS sees full atmospheric pressure. That makes the FI think there is lots of air going into the engine, so it adds lots of fuel. Sounds like it's enough so that the engine just barely runs. Find and fix the air leak. Possibly multiple leaks. Look for hoses not connected to anything, or any hose that goes directly from the air filter to the manifold. You might also have over-advanced timing. That will raise the idle RPM as well. --DD |
sticking accelerator or a vacuum leak, should be easy to find
