steering wheel

a real novice....how do I take the steering wheel off...

I think there's something mentioned here in the tech articles. The short version of it is to basically hold the steering wheel, and turn the horn counter-clockwise.

are you removing just the horn button?.. or the steering wheel?..

steering wheel, you're going to have to borrow something like the CLUB to stablize it against the car, and a huge wrench to work that big nut off the wheel.

Check the "Ignition Switch Replacement" tech article (I think it is) on this site. There's a section about removing the steering wheel in there.

The short version: Remove the horn pad (push and twist). Hold the wheel steady, use BIG socket to remove the nut. Mark the wheel against the shaft so you can put it back correctly, pull. Pull. PULL HARDER!!! ;^)
