Try talking her into letting you use the dishwasher to clean-up a bunch of crusty fuel injection parts.

Sure, but what about the air cleaner & intake runners?? The pot scrubber cycle will make those look like new.

About the only thing that gets a major dirty look from my wife anymore is brake cleaner fumes...she put up with all kinds of living-room parts storage and kitchen-counter resto projects at the old house. Fortunately now I have a real garage and driveway

I draw the line a stinky stuff waffting into the house and sandblasting to close to open door. i don't know parts in the dishwasher just dome how don't seem right.
you boys need to go a but the wife something nice .

Kevin,

To help install the new races, you can remove some of metal from the old races using a grinder. Then the old races can be used to help press in the new races.

I did get that nasty look when i baked some parts in the oven. We did talk about cleaning engine parts in the dishwasher but it's a no go.

As for brake cleaner she doesn't mind. Actually she will ask me if i have some around on occasions as it seems to be a great cleaner for some nasty stains on clothing.

Try painting a car in the attached garage...twice!! I was told I would never do that again! She really does not say much accept she hates the smell of carb cleaner...I go way out on the seperate b-ball court and use it! Trust me she is spoiled rotten for her tolerance!!

My wife is awesome about everything. The only thing she complains about, but still allows, is the shop towels in the laundry. Some of them can get pretty nasty.

When I finally got the old races out of the hubs, I used the cutoff wheel to make a single cut in one of the old races, which relieved it enough to not get stuck in the hub when i used it to seat the new bearing.

Oh yeah - you ARE a lucky guy, and you should follow handyher's advice and go out and buy her something nice (no, it can't have a Porsche part number ).
