reference on used parts prices

is there a site that i can refence to view a comprehensive list of prices on good used parts for the 914? The rust demons have claimed another victim and will be selling off some spares. I'd like to avaiod a bunch of no reserve auctions.

Thanks,
DrEBerg

DrE, if you intend to base your items on a place like AA (ouch, and you won't make many friends) be prepared to have your auction end with the item unsold, and you will still owe ebay. what is a piece laying around taking up space worth? try to sell here and at 914club.com at what you Think is enough. consider that you will be helping out a fellow enthusiast with a price bellow what you consider below market value (think kharma and you might save a marrige). even with a no reserve @ebay, items, like water, will rise to the're own level. start collecting box's, packing material, and if you don't have one get a digital camera. EVERYONE is going to want pictures. you will go crazy when all want to know what shipping is going to cost. like our names end in usps, fedex, or ups. you might be slower that some might like and then you will be REAL popular. here is another tip, size matters. if you go over 108" ( length+ girth) the shipping costs get very interesting. outfits like mail boxes etc are not the way to go. in my experience, usps is by far the most reasonable in the long run.

Thumbs up What it's worth

Dr.ER , I agree with with Keven , Water and the price of used 914 parts seak there own level. Rule of thumb: $100.00 item new.
Rebuilt is 50.00, Used is USUALLY $25.00. But then we have the thirty year old thing, and a lot of parts are no longer available, and there for a Porsche. What I would do in the above example.

Put item on internet for sale at $25.00,no reserve, let bidders tell you what it's worth to them.
just my to cents Dave

Supply and demand is also an issue. There are lots of parts that may be NLA or expensive but never break so everybody that is parting out cars has them. Lots of stuff on ebay seems to sell for $5 or $10 or ends with no bids. I just saw two MPS sell for $20-25 each on ebay. That doesn't make much sense for a $600 part.
