bought this original radio

Hello, my plates pictured here are 3.5 inches wide and very big. The radio is 4 inches wide but the knob center to center seems to be the same so it should work. I just need to cut out 1/4 inch on both sides bigger width. Anyone know the most professional way to do that? Anyone have a 4 inch wide plate to trade for a 3.5 inch wide plate?

The vinyl is just glued on; it is not difficult to remove it, trim to fit the new opening, and glue it back on.

You'll need heavier tools for the plate, obviously. A jigsaw should work well, but other tools can be made to work.

Hello, the plastic piece is not a covering and the very open piece would not work with a small radio.
