Input shaft seal
Hello everybody , I am going to refresh a 914 gearbox . I have a new old stock seal (blue one ) that is 22/40/ 13/16
I compared it to a old genuine vw one and the seem identical . The seal it self is kind of hard . Are they generally like this or might it be bad due to being in a drawer for many years . I saw that these seals are the best to install instead of the vw replacements . |

Don't use an old, hard seal for the input shaft. The risk you run is oiling your clutch if it leaks, which is a pain in the butt and ruins organic clutch disks. Seals are cheap in comparison.

Look it isn't exactly hard or brittle, it is just a bit harder than what I had in mind |
The one you want is 113-311-113-B from our host. The inner portion should be soft and easy to depress.
