RFC: New web page on D-Jet Idle Stability
I just put up a new page on troubleshooting D-Jetronic idle stability problems:
http://members.rennlist.com/pbanders/idle.htm I haven't linked it to my main page yet, as I'm looking for feedback. Take a look at it and give me your inputs, thanks. Brad Anders |
Looks good Brad!
I do like to set the timing to 32 BTDC though for a little more power. I also like deleting the vacuum retard but that's another story. Geoff |
:) Very very good Brad. I have a few things to check now because you hit the nail on some things that are happening with mine. Not too extreme but, none the less, noticeable.
SmileWavy Thanks alot bruce |
Brad,
Just want to take this opportunity to thank you for your research and publication via your website of the results. I have visited it many times, and no doubt will visit many times more. For anyone searching for answers about idling, drivability, or starting problems, your page is a "must read". Regarding this new page, I think it is important to explain what you mean exactly when you say "All components correct for your application and in new or like-new condition". For people just starting out, this statement might be glossed over, with the thinking, "Yeah, I've got a ECU and an MPS, now let's get down to business...". I know you cover these different models and their compatability on your main page, but a newbie in a hurry for answers might not get there unless you point the way. Just a thought, from someone who is figuring out his own ECU, MPS, and CHT compatability issues. Ed |
