Any 914 V8's in Portland,Or. ?
I am considering doing a V8 conversion on my 73 914 and would like to see a finished car or one with the engine fitted in place. Anyone in or near Portland who would let me look at their car please email or call.
Thanks, Jerry 503-638-9665 |

I have many V8 conversion pics. engine , tranny, radiators, exhaust. My photo files a large but Mr Steve Malmz has a great V8 conversion page with very detailed photos. I recomend this as study material for anyone considering a V8 conversion . If you have a fast connection, I will send you more pics if Steves site is not enough. His chassis is done well to handle the extra power. The CV joints however, proved to be a different story. here's the link http://www.malmz.com/signatur/914widebody/

no...wait...dont ban the "911 v8 guy" yet, it sounds like he might have some illegal v8 conversion parts for sale.

Sean v8 914,
Thanks for that link. I think the 911 v8 guy should look into getting himself a nice DOT aproved Honda so he can be safe. Jerry |
I contacted Renegade last month to see if I could get JUST their plans for the V8 conv. They said they'd be more than happy to ship plans for $50 AND, if I bought any parts to do the conv. from them, they would apply the $50 I paid for the plans to the price of the parts.
I'd say that is a great company. BTW... I don't think the plans are DOT approved:D bruce |
Supposedly the V8911guys problems have something to do with a leaky modified gas tank (tanks need to be cut and welded for 911 convesions).....I can see a problem with that...
Jerry, try to look at more than one if you can find them, not all owners do everything the same and you'll get a better chance to figure out what to do and what not to do depending on skill and budget. |
Jerry There is or was a RH V8 conversion that was for sale locaterd in Salem. DOT approved NOT. He had it listed in the Autotrader, I beleive it was around $13000.
I saw the car at the first 914 gathering we had in Monmouth at Jamie Rusts pizza restaurant. Very stock looking, dark green. CCLinLOO |
