It looks real pretty to me! If it runs as good as it looks, would 10k get it you think?

I love how they always list all of the standard features like they are truly unique. Gee I wish I had an alloy engine, or a 7K tach. Sheesh

True, but it ain't in CA... If it is truly "rust-free" (or as close as a 914 gets), it sounds like more than a $6K car out in the Land of Rust...

If anyone is interested the car is about 3 miles from my office. It is not worth 15K...even as a PCA memeber owned, rust free car on the Beast Coast. From My soap box it is worth a strong 7K...But that is if it runs as good as the used car salesman says it does...If you do not know Potomac, MD...
ie.$$$$$$$ someone just passing by would plop down 12K "beacuse it is cute or my husband had one in college ..."

What is wrong...engine looks beat, tires are crap, interior is also not as nice as the pictures, Steel Wheels...It is on the lot as a consignment...owner would take 7...It is though "914 rust free"

Looks like the Econo version of the 74 2.0 with no options....note the steel wheels....unless someone robbed them off the car....bet it does not have sway bars.

Worth 6-7 in rust land.....4500-5K hear in the CA Republic.

FYI,

If someone needs a 15K 914, I have a line on a one. A '72 914 with 20K miles. Signal Orange and in Concors shape.

Actually, it has the appearance group (note the center console, the rollbar vinyl, and the lettering). Just no Fuchs.

Vinyl, center console and lettering can be easily added. Sway bars are a little harder and pricey. If it had bars, it should have been in the ad copy. Even money says they are not there......

It's a pretty car, but I've seen a lot better.

Noted also that the passenger armrest is detatching from the bottom piece (see the gap?), and that it appears to have an aftermarket muffler (maybe a Bursch). Body looks straight, valences need a repaint. Snow on the ground makes me wonder about the "rust-free" nature of the car. Photos are no substitute for a physical inspection. Front trunk looks cleaner than most I've seen.

Decent car, but not a 15K car.

well i have seen the car face to fender, it does look nice he told me 16 k

he also told me he had 10 k in the restoration of it and if i can get him cars in the same shape for 12 k for a 4 and 14 for a 6 he would give me 1000 bucks so if you have a real nice car and want enough money to replace it and have cash left over email me i would love to clean this guy out

According to the resto books, all 74s had targa bar vinyl and the side stripes were dealer installed options or bought from the parts counter.

That one must be an early '74 car... or some parts have been replaced. The gauges have silver centers, and it appears to have a '73 temp gauge. I can't see that too clearly though....

this dealer is located in potomac md in the vicinity of avenel golf course. (i think it's avenel, they hold a big time golf tournament there) anyway, there are big $$ houses all around. the dealer has lots of classic cars. i guess one could ask anything.

I think a lot of you guys are too hard on the low mileage cream puff cars. It's hard to say about this particular one but if it is truely everything the ad says it is (I'd bet it isn't though) I think it would easily be a $10K car. I know if I found a mint condition, all original, low mileage, black (I always wanted black) '73/74 2L I'd probably buy it for $10K.
