Conversion Project Update!
After a 3-month hiatus, I am in the project mode again. I spent the last two days feverently working on stripping the car.
Updated pictures are at my sight http://www.iepg.com/914 I've also got some updates on items for sale. Hopefully I will be ready for the body shop in 2-3 weeks. I am almost done stripping the car. All I have left to to is finish the front gas tank area, POR-15 the floor pans and rear firewall. Remove the driver's side rocker panel, and drill the holes for the passenger side mirror. I started working with my Porsche mechanic on the motor again. We should start assembly the block in the next 2 weeks. Here's the plan... 3.0L shortblock with upgrade 3.6L oil pump and sump plate. Early SC single-plug cylinder heads with the larger intake ports 98mm J&E Pistons & Cylinders (9.5:1 CR) (This will effectively make it a 3.2L short stroke) Elgin Modified S cams Weber 46mm IDA carbs Electomotive distributorless Igition Kennedy Engeering 9" Stage-2 Clutch Package Headers Custom Exhaust Basically 260HP+ Regards, |
I really like the look of that exhaust setup on your site, with the dual mufflers. Got any pics or links with pics of complete cars like that?

Nice!!
Been waitin' fer the update ;) |
According to BA's book, the 3.6 oil pump has more capacity than a previous 911 oil pumps. IMHO, you may need to run AN 16 lines to your cooler as compared to the AN 12 you can on a 2.0 - 3.2 motor's oil pump.
Great project! |

Try here for a car from Patrick Motorsports with this type of exhaust. Schweet! |
Anybody heard what it sounds like? Also, wouldn't it be pretty heavy compared to stock? Looks killer though...
