heads

Does anybody know if perhaps the heads on a 1.7 are interchangable left to right with out and mechanical problems running the car? beside that the head temp is on one of them?

i know they will physically bolt on.

i'm asking this because as i was bolting on my exhaust and i noticed that the heads had the numbers 1 one 3 on them. one on one side and one on the other and also noticed i put them on the wrong sides . i remember looking for those markings when i put them on and dont remember seeing them. so i went off some pictures and where the head temp sensor was in the pics.

this is the problem with buying a car that is in pieces and trying to put it back together w/o know exactly how it came apart.

Just matters that the head temp sensor is located right.

Yup. And even then, you can cut a hole in the engine tin and run a longer wire to the sensor, and all will work just fine.
