What is inside the dust boot that attaches to the rack?
Rubber coupling, hard flange.... Pics and cost to replace would be cool. Thanks guys

The rack is inside, the boot attaches to the housing that the rack rides in. The rubber eyes (or monoball for Turbo) screw into the ends of the rack.

You just about nailed it. There's the rubber double thick hockey puck with the holes and bolt sleeves that go through it. And, the two bolt flange on a stick with the splines on the upper end. This stick flange bolts to a similar flange on the housing, with the rubber piece in the middle. I suppose you could replace the rubber "hockey puck" part, but I don't know if they require it or not.

I think you need to pull the tank to get to the steering shaft bearing. The steering unit, I believe, is accessible from below.
