Whats the value of a complete 914/6 motor?
Guys, I have a 912 that came with flat 6. I’m putting it back to 912 specs and was researching the current motor in my car. Realized its a 1970 914/6 2.0 motor serial 6405318. The motor is fairly complete with Italian webers. There was some prior work to the heads; engine turns freely but really needs to be gone through. Truth is I’m a complete novice to air cooled. Is this worth anything more than any other core 2.0 six? Appreciate any insight. Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this.

The 914-6 engine is almost identical to the 1969 911T engine, which is the least powerful 911 engine ever made. It's probably not really anything special (the oil cooler was likely changed out when they put it in a rear-engine application) and not worth more than any other early 911 engine....
Except to the person who owns the 914-6 it originally came out of. (If that car is even around.) --DD |
Thanks for the response- I appreciate it!

The webers/intake are worth some coin and the fan assembly, then sell the engine as a long block.

914-6, $60K + 914-4, up to $25K |
Looks like CaraSmock is Googling phrases related to the subject of a post and then responding with a snippet of that phrase. A lot of work to try to bump up a post count so they can spam the boards later....
