rear trunk "cable release" latch help
Anyone out there with a 'between the lights' PORSCHE reflector, and solved their rear truck latch issue with a cable type release option..... and have a configuration that works that they could share a picture or sketch of their attaching mechanism. I'm leaning towards a simple plan ....exiting thru the trunk floor including a duplicate/ back-up

I have seen a solenoid latch as shown in LarryM's pics above with a cable attached to the arm going down through a hole in the trunk floor to the muffler area. The idea is that when the solenoid fails, you can still fiddle around under the car and open the trunk.

My quick release cable runs under floor mat, through hole to engine compartment. Pull handle is ty-wrapped to hinge of engine cover.
