1975 914 that just sold on Bring a Trailer for $60K

Hi All--

Brad Mayeur of 915 Limited just gave me a call and told me that my '75 914 sold on Bring a Trailer for ~ $60K! I bought the car in '97 and sold it in 2018 I believe. Over the years I went through the entire car including a bare metal repaint. Man that paint came off hard! I'm posting here so the new owner can ask questions about the car if he has has any. The description of the engine rebuild is accurate. I really like the changes to the seats and steering wheel, I wish I'd made the changes myself.

Over the years I intended to make it a -six conversion and bought several 6 cylinder engines along the way; 2.0, 2.4, 2.7 time-cert and a rebuilt 3.0L and all of the necessary parts to do it but I just couldn't modify the car, it was so solid! Note: I no longer have any of the six parts. I finally sold the 914 and a '77 Targa with a 2.0 L four Type IV to Brad. The '77 was in the same condition!

Good Luck to the new owner!

Nice cars are bringing crazy prices on BAT. It’s a great place to sell a car, but not a good place to find a bargain these days.
