Turn signal return
Hi all. I'm a new owner of a '74 914 2.0, getting familiar with the car and fixing some minor problems. Currently the turn signal does not automatically shut off after completing a left or right turn. It should do that, right? Looking at a Haynes manual, it appears the culprit is the steering column switch. Are these available or would the switch I have need to be rebuilt? Thanks!

Google this string, lots of good results: "site: www.914world.com turn signal cancel"
There are a couple things it could be--the ring on the back of the wheel, or it's positioning, also the switch and the little nub that it has that the cancelling ring contacts to reset to neutral... those links will have detailed pics ![]() |

Thanks cajones, that's exactly what I needed. I did find a replacement turn signal switch at Sierra Madre parts for what seems like a reasonable price, but eliminating the other potential causes is the first order of biz. Doug
