914s on Speedchannel
Did anyone catch any of this on Speedchannel last night? 10pm to 11pm? East coast?
Very cool, I was checking out the Isle of Man motorcycle stuff and when it was over, the following program showed cars lined up and taking off - one of the cars staging next was a silver 914. Imagine my excitement. I watched the whole thing, I think there were 3 914s competing? At one of the starts, a silver 914 was in the front row lined up next to a 911, and when it took off, it seemed like the whole pack had to swerve around him while they were accelerating. I did a search and found this website - anyone here wanna translate? Cheers, Jeff http://www.914-6-club.de/motorsport/archiv/2003/stfa2003.html |

The many reports in the club newspaper and in the InterNet over the route car had aroused my interest and me early my denomination to Paris send to let. To my joy still two were further 914/6 GT in Paris at the Trocadero at the start. A mad field with alone 6 x 906,1x 910, 4 x Ford GT 40, a Ferrari 250 LM and Jean Ragnotti (French Rallyemeister and double winner of the world championship run Rallye Korsika on Renault Maxi turbo) in the group 4, Renault Alpine A 110, factory-installed of Renault supports. Many good drivers with AC Cobras, 911er and Ferrari should not it for us simply make-making those technical acceptance took place on Monday and the route led in this year from Paris to Cannes over the racing courses Dijon, Charade and Ledenon and endless mountain examinations. My copilot Kersten did not have himself with Road book set and in such a way fell apart very intensively us the first stage from Paris to the first special test heavily

yeah, I caught that show last night too... my Tivo switched over and started recording and I came back in a bit and there was a couple of 914's the announcer guy only mentioned the 914's once during the whole show though(that I heard) he said some thing like "road cars like the 9-1-4 did very well in the street portions of the course where cars like the GT-40 have a strong disadvantage"
