Holy cow it runs!
I was having trouble with my engine cutting out. Figured it was my carbs. I finally pulled them & cleaned all the jets along with cleaning everything up inside. Had one nut missing on them too. Started right up
![]() ![]() So a basic update on the Leech for those who don't know of it. She is a 73 2.0 I've had for 2 years now. I've got her basically restored now. I did not stay with a stock color but the dark metalic blue looks very sweet. I had some minor rust issues (floor pan) which I got fixed. Kinda just cut out the bad & patched in the new! MY paint guy did it for me. It is solid & works well but is not a nice looking underneath as a new floor pan would have been. I have gotten the tranny rebuilt & the engine. On my engine I went with more of a racing cam & 96 p&c's. I stuck with my FI for over a year & couldn't get it working right. Finally figured out I put to big a cam in. Got a set of weber 44's from Brad 914club. Had a shop put those on & get the synced & all. Picked it up drove in the city about 3blocks with a big grin. Then my clutch tube decided that was the time to seperate from the center tunnel. Sat in the garage for a few more months & finally got that all fixed. Then she wouldn't run right. When cold she was great but once warm she cut out & wouldn't go. Sat for a few more months that way. FInally got the carbs cleaned & now she's running the best I've ever had. I want to get a dino done to see what horsepower I'm getting. It is definately much more than stock. Of course I hardly remember the feeling of driving it before it got torn apart. I would guess I'm in the 100-120 range. Hopefully the 120 but probably closer to 100. SO that is the long version! I'm happy driving in the sun with the top off today ![]() ![]() ![]()
