Fuel lines or Breather lines?

I'm hoping one of the more experienced members can give me a hand...

I'm replacing the fuel lines under the tank of my 914. I have a few feet, each, of two line sizes that match the internal diameters of the lines currently clamped to the tank. But I don't know for certain that the new lines are high-pressure fuel lines. I bought them a few years ago and all they say on the outside is "Made in Germany". They are rubber on the inside (about 3/32" thick on the larger hose and 1/16" on the smaller), with braided cloth on the outside.

Anyone know how I can tell, for sure, that these are fuel lines, and not simply breather lines?

Thanks in advance!
Joe

If you have fuel injection you have a high pressure fuel system. I would't use hoses I wasn't sure would handle the pressure. Hoses are cheap. Buy good ones.

If the fuel pump is in the back of the car the lines from the tank to the pump are NOT under pressure.

One feeds the input to the fuel pump (suction) and one is the return line (open in the tank).

That's very true and a good point but I would still be somewhat reluctant to use hoses that I bought 2 years ago. Hoses are cheap. Buy new ones.
