CIS TURBO intake size (meter/fuel distributor to turbo)

I wondered in this pic http://www.pelicanparts.com/motorcity/davedarling/ecr_01/turbo1_7.jpg what size diameter it is? I'm running around a 2.5" at 2 feet of run. Should this be fine or go to a 2 inch diameter? Would throttle responce be better with a smaller intake? How about these pix? http://www.pelicanparts.com/motorcity/davedarling/ecr_01/Friday_AM.html
What size is that and about how long?

Panel, the first pic is of my set up. I am using 2.25-in O.D. tubing for my intake track. Before I added the turbo, the total length was approx 2-ft. After I added the turbo, the length is more than double. The throttle response never changed. The length increase of the intake track did not seem to make a difference on mine.

To answer your question, the 2-in tube would give you a stronger signal and quicker response, but less total air volume. The size and shape of your airflow sensor plate will have a large affect on throttle resonse and fuel delivery. What car/engine size was your airflow sensor originally from?

My thoughts are that 2 to 2.25-in diameter tubing works well with CIS.

Good Luck,
Ed

Those are pics of my car. The tubing is 2" diameter and the run totals around 70" from the sensor plate to the throttle body. My turbo's original application was the VW/Audi 1.8t engine which has similar diameter/length on the intake track.

panel - Given the short run on your setup I don't think diameter will be an issue.
Do you have some pictures of your project?

Not yet but very soon I hope. I'll post here and on the Shop Talk forum for all to see. Thanks guys for the answers. I went down to 2.25" and had the ends swedged open to the boot and turbo.
