Scored a crotch rocket

While going down a local highway, a young man on an older crotch rocket cut me off, so I started riding him a little, we both hit the next exchange at the same time, he turned back and looked at me like by by, sorry I downshifted and put my foot to the floor and reeled him in, the exchange is a mild S curve and by the second curve I was on his arse! As we pulled on the highway I went over in the far lane and was still to the floor and shifting, he just looked at me and shook his head. I know an experienced driver on a crotch rocket would smoke me, but it felt good to smoke this obviously inexperienced rider. Beyond an old nasty Buick, thats the only car to challenge me, here in Michigan, most people don't know what a 914 is. It is a blast to drive!!! Fhe fact that I'm an old fart and that this is totally out of character for me, tells me this little go cart of a car is getting to me!

Randy

I drive over 100 somewhere every day, I try to keep it under 120.

(it's hilly in one spot)

A friend made me a bumper sticker that says "Closed Course Professional Driver"..

I am prime for a Darwin, hell with it, I had a good run!

You could always give them a friendly reminder that even though crotch rockets are fast, they don't stop worth beans (something about two contact patches the size of postage stamps that don't do much for grip). I guarantee the teener will stop WAY faster than that cycle. These guys go a million miles an hour but forget they don't stop so well, and the car that they run into is fairly immovable by comparison.

Later,

G

G- it read like Randy used the term "crotch rocket" to refer to a car ("besides a Buick that's the only car..") but I promise you this, a bike will stop a LOT faster than a car. It is not even close.

At least somebody is winning races. I tried to get the jump on a Harley Edition Ford and got smoked and that was with him pulling a trailer! Old guy with his wife. Time to get the 2.0 going this 1.7 sucks.

Definately get the 2.0. I've got mine rebuilt to more like a 2.2. The thing screams now that I got most the kinks worked out. I haven't had a real race yet. Though I think a few teens in a few Hondas tried. I saw them in my rearview as I passed 100 & they didn't seem to be trying (anymore)!!! I do have a little shimmy at 55up I got to work out though!

No, I meant a bike, as stated, I have no doubt that an experienced rider would have pulled away, but this guy/kid/punk had no idea what he was doing and got smoked by an old man in a yellow porchy go cart!

I have a 914-6, 2.5L and short gears. I also have a 99 HD FXDWG with 95 CI. I love the Porsche and I would certainly be more confident in curves with it, but for power to weight (100 hp and 600#) and braking, the HD would win hands down.

Easy enough, most vinyl print shops can do anything you want for a few bucks, it looks good in the window.. heh.
