New 914 Owner - something missing in engine
Hi,
I am a long time Porsche owner but a brand new 914 owner. Just opened the engine bay lid to be faced with this hole - looks like something is missing - can someone point me in the right direction? https://i.postimg.cc/d0Hd9pnq/PXL-20...-123539887.jpg Douglas |
Timing Hole cap
It's a hole to see the timing marks. PP and most vendors should carry the black plastic screw-off type cap for it

Hi Douglas, As a new 914 owner, have you ventured over to 914World.com? Lots of great specific information there to help keep your 914 up to snuff. Cheers, Michael

yup we had it made and sell to pelican, excellent product

The timing hole plug is pretty important--that hole is a great big leak from the highest-pressure area of the cooling system, so plugging it up is a Very Good Idea.
I think this is the catalog link for the plug. --DD |
Yeah, you will have cooling problems with that missing, you want all the cooling tin too
|
all the above, not being to nitpick, but your throttle linkage could use some help.
I also had been a long time, 356, 911 and 930 owner for 50+ years. Got bit by the 914 bug several years ago, bit hard, these days there are 5 in the stable. Just fun cars |
looks like it is time for Pelican to reorder, Dave, we have 500 of them in stock
