I Love This Car!!!!!!!

a year ago last April, i bought my light ivory 74 1.8 L-jet, "12 years in the garage" story. the brake warning light did not work, (among other things) and it was missing the headlight covers(also, among other things). i found a set of green covers at a swap meet and installed them (light ivory, remember...). the local town had a classic car/antique car show as part of the 4th of July festivities so i entered and got up early this morning and shined and cleaned up the car, i didn't expect any awards, just satisfied with spending some quality time with my car and telling people what it is, 90% didn't. well, the guy to the left of me with a '35 ford 3 window/rumble seat who solicited votes won, the guy to the right of me with a PERFECT E-type jag came in second. so i go home and say, what the hay..., i need something to attract attention and get some votes so i put a red headlight cover on the passenger side, so now it's light ivory with one green and one red cover (stop laughing or rolling your eyes...). now i decide to go to the store to get something for dinner and ... i'll take the teener... i get in and start it up and..... the brake warning light is working! so, the next tech article will be: how to fix your brake warning light by changing the headlight cover. where is that 944 guy who wants to buy a 914..... I LOVE THIS CAR......

HAHA, I'm very interested in that tech article. Gotta love these old 914's. That reminds me of my 68 Beetle that only one head light worked but when you turned the brights on the head light would turn off and the one that didnt work would turn on! If you flicked the high beam switch over and over again, my car would look like something that belonged in the circus.

So, you bought a "new" 914! Very cool! I still have the set of "perfect" seats you saw some time ago. Only now, they're in San Diego with the rest of the stuff (and me!). Glad to see you're continuing in the tradition. . .after all, you're the de facto head of the NOVA 914 contingency, aren't you?

Jim,
I know you were talking about doing the multi-color headlight covers for a while now, glad to hear that fixed the brake warning light. Maybe when you do the full 'funky-914-gt-multi-colored-bumper' everything else will be fixed, haha. Good work!
