Seat Tilt

How much tilt do you use?

I like +3 for when I get out on the interstate, but I usually leave it in +2 for driving around town.

With it @ +3 the seat top goes into the backpad and looks better.

With it all the way down, I think an 8 footer could fit, with a wheel extension.

Always +3 for me. I'm a short guy (5'7" or 5'71/2" -as if 1/2" made me taller....) but I've always favored arms out Italian-style driving position. I keep my seat tipped as far as it will go, them pushed back into the backpad recess. I really like this position. It's like I am in Apollo 13 (OK, 15 or ,like, 17 would be better), waiting for liftoff. My ass is mere inches from the pavement! It is a very supporting position, sort of cupped into the seat. Did ya ever visualize that asphalt ripping along just below you?

I used to be a +3 user. Now I find the +2 more practical. I have some kind of fuzzy cloth seats, and I try to avoid having to spin my butt on them to get into the car. Gives me a torque wedgie. So the +2 position gives me more room to get my rear into the seat in a more-or-less straight forward position before I swing the left leg in. Another reason is, I wear progressive bi-focals. Raked back at the much more stylish +3 causes me to look through the lower part of the lenses, as if reading a book. Hard on the eyes.

Hah! I'm five-and-a-half also, and my legs are real short (don't you just love nature). My seat is pulled as far forward as it'll go, and on the +3 too. Very funny to see anyone try to get in - noone can get their legs between the bottom of the steering wheel and the seat, and when they do, their knees hit the wheel. And I've got a 13 inch Momo on it too.
With the seat like that I feel like I'm flying a fighter plane. A leaky, smelly, noisy, 76 hosepower fighter plane.
Cheers,
Jeff

Guess that gives new meaning to "sit on it and spin".

Anyone know someone with an early 911 with the non-reclining Recaros?

I want to know if that will fit, figuring in that I can just get the headrest in the backpad @ +3.

hmm..
