Lightbulb Anyone out there from CO? : License plate question

I'm from MN, and I'm thinking about going out to CO to buy an (off-topic )saab turbo convertible from a private party. I'd like to keep the CO plates in the car until they expire, and then get plates to my home state. Until I do that, what will my plates register in the computer if somone runs my plate in another state? I'm told that in CA, if you do that as an out-of state resident, they come up "transfer pending" or somthing like that
with reference to the previous owner for a long time, noting that he's sold the car (if he tuns in the notice to the state (as per state regs). Why? I'd like it to NOT be connected with my DL for awhile in the computer sytem that cops use(too many tickets), but just until the CO plates expire. Is there anyone out there in CO who has bought a lot of cars in CO that knows the ropes here? Oh, btw I just blew up a photo showing what appears to be the number 11 on the lower left corner permanently printed on the plate and a yellow sticker on the right.
Does the yellow ssticker mean 03 expiration, or does this thing have expired plates? Does CO require a front plate?

Well its really up to the seller if he wants to keep the plates on the saab or not. In CO they stay with the person, not the car like in CA ect. I'm in boulder CO and sold my jeep over ebay, I let the buyer drive home on the plates to SD and then had him mail them back, and they are now on my new car, In CO you save fee's and taxes by reusing your plate. I'm not sure but if the seller does not car and let's the plates go, The car would come up in his name if pulled over in CO, As far as driving on those plates in MN, I"m sure it's not legal, but your call. Ferg.
