6 Wiper Motor: Equivalent 911 Wiper Motor
I need to find a working 1970 914-6 windshield wiper motor (don't really need the linkage). I'm guessing this was really just a 911 part and that finding a 911 motor would be easier than trying to find a 914-6 motor. So does anyone have any idea what would be the equivalent 911 year or part number for this?

Checked PET and found no help. Part # for six is 914 628 019 10.
Early (70-71) four ends 020 10, late four is 020 13. I agree with your idea that it should be a 911 motor but numbers would say no. I would at least look at a 911 motor from 69-71 and see if difference is apparent. Maybe you could cut and paste. Four cyl. motor might work as well but it is two speed and I think six is three. |

Jim,
Thanks for checking it out for me. I'm thinking that it is very unlikely that Porsche designed and/or bought a different wiper motor just for the 914-6. More likely they used the same motor as the 911 and attached it to slightly different linkanges to fit properly under the cowl. And the part number refers to the whole assembly and that's why the part number is a 914 part number and not a 911 part number. What do you think about this theory? Is it just wishful thinking. As a side note, part of the problem is that I do not have a 914-6 wiper motor for reference to compare against a 911 motor so I wouldn't know if the 911 motor was compatible even if I saw one. I agree with your theory in large part. The part #'s I posted are for motor only, not a linkage assembly. I too think it is a 911 motor but with some, maybe slight, difference. Unfortunately you may need to see a 6 motor. I have one in a car which might be accessible enough to photo but car is at another location so I can't look now. I suggest you post your question on the 914club.com board. There are several 6 "experts" who post there. Mike Ginter, Lawrence and the "boss" Brad should all be able to help. At least they have access to 6's to look at.
