Hamsters want out!

On my Pelican "Project List" are various parts to correct the slop in my shifter. I've been waiting to collect funds to buy 'em...
So, there I am pulling out to merge with traffic. It's a sunny afternoon, and the car is running well. First, nnrrrrr, second, nnnrr, BACK INTO FIRST!!!!, rrrRRRRRREEEE!!!. That was not my finest and most skilled shifter manipulation. I must have really pissed off the hamsters. They have goten a big hammer and have begun the song of impending financial decapitation. My only recourse is exorcism at the local Temple of air-cooled wisdom. I must arrange for the costly hamster removal ceremony where they burn my money before my eyes to draw out the greedy little buggers.

That is my story and it is ....

it is...

well, it is my desperate attempt to generate some sympathy from other 914 owners, since you folks understand the hurt. I wanted to spend the money on good 914 stuff. At least shifter stuff.

Ok, You got my sympathy, That happened to me one time. I was driving down Harbor Blvd doing about 65 or so (in a 40 zone) and some car pulled out in front of me and I downshifted to avoid hitting him. I didnt tear up anything in the trans but I blew out my clutch instantly. I meant to drop into third but hit first instead. That was 20 years ago. I replaced the clutch and sold the car about a year later. Never had any trouble from the trans or the clutch.
