fast idle and AAR adjustment
I have two identical part number AAR valves to choose from, but they are adjusted quite differently. By loosening the locknut and sliding it I can affect the high idle... what is the high idle supposed to be when the engine is cold? {already checked Haynes and the other L-Jet info I have} I adjusted it a bit to get the car to start better, because it was starting at 500rpm and finally climbimg to a normal idle when warm. Now, at 70F outside temperature and the engine 'cold', it climbs to about 1,500 when first started and then drops over a couple of minutes as the valve heats up, finally closing off altogether and leaving a curb idle of 900. I just want to be sure I'm not over-revving it when cold.

1500 is not tooooo high for warm-up, I run around 1300-1400.. but I actually do that with my foot.
![]() Oh wait.. I don't own a running car, do not listen to me. M
