Starting the serious wrenching
Picked up all the new parts on Friday and cleaned a spot on the work bench.
The shop washed the case halves but I still spent a couple hours cleaning the mating surfaces. Then I cleaned up the old crank bearing with 80 grit sandpaper,.....NOT! I got the cam and crank in place without problems, but I sure took my time and was very carefull. Last picture before the case was closed and torked. Everything seems to work, crank moves smooth. I changed a head on my camper bus 15 years ago and that is as far as I have torn into these things. Next step is to clean the pistons and cylinders and stick them on. Neal |
