WOW.. very nice debate. Now,I have built and thrashed 450hp 914's. Both with 930 boxes and 901 boxes. The 901 will live 6 weeks with severe abuse. Drag strip racing, not street. It will finally rip the teeth off of the ring gear. As fas as torque and weight, let me ask a question. Why do drag racers put a strap on the left side of the block to the frame ? Its to keep the engine from moving up and to the right. When on the gas the engine wants to lift out of the car. I have cracked the mount that Andy sells. His mount not the chassis. I ended up using his as a template for my own 1 3/4 DOM mount. I do highly recommend some kind of chassis strengthing, but this is not the case for Gruppe5.
