I have 2 extra nipples... please help!!
 

Now that I got your attention...
I noticed that my rear brake calipers have both an upper and a lower bleed nipple like the fronts. Does this mean a PO put front calipers on the rear?
I also noticed the P-brake isn't connected either, which I think is another indication.
I am going to order the rebuild kits, but I want to know if I should order 4 front kits. Are the PP rebuild kits complete (incl. O-rings)?
Any info is appreciated...

have you considered having them pierced?

if they were front calipers, they wouldn't have the emergency brake lever. either late or early rear calipers have 2 nipples

I just rebuilt my rears last week, the PP kits were complete including the seals that go between the caliper halves.

Bleed the Brakes using the upper nipples. Raise the rear of the car up, this will help move any trapped air. When you do the front brakes not neccesary to raise the front.
The kits we sell are complete with All the seals. Steve

I'd recommend bleeding some fluid out the bottom nipples too after you're about done. I've found a little air can remain trapped there, I haven't studied it to understand why but there definitely was a pocket of air at that point.

They way I understand it the bottom nipple is bled first to remove any crud and old fluid and the top is bled second to remove any trapped air. Isn't doing both everytime the recommended method?

Sounds like a good plan to me. Considering manufacturers want to save every nickel they wouldn't have put two bleeders there for no reason.

I read somewhere, some time ago, that some 914 rears have 2 valves & some have one.

I think the way to tell if yours are truely rear would be to check & see if there is an adjusting nut in the middle, outer side of the calliper. Only the rears have this adjusting screw/nut.

They also have this great big lever sticking out of the bottom of the caliper.... ;) Probably a little bit easier to see than the adjusters.
