winshield wipers

My wipers are not working at all. I checked the fuse and it's ok. Should I check the wiper control or the wiper motor next. I have a 75 914. Thanks

Howdy
Wipers are a pain - I've had problems with mine also. Get jiggy with the linkage first, it could be stuck. You may next wanna pull the motor/linkage assembly out and check from there. Make sure to check the wires that plug into the motor itself, and while it's out you can take the whole mess apart and lightly re-grease everything - use lithium grease.
Extra help is good for taking off the hood or holding the tank too, so trick a buddy into helping you - use pizza.
The tank comes out easily, and the blower box is a bit of a pain, but once those are out the rest is cake.
You will then be able to drive carefree in the rain. Unless your roof seals leak, or your window seals leak, or you engine lid leaks, or.......................

Check the relays. Clean all the ones behind the fuse block, clean the connections with some electrical contact cleaner and reseat. Or swap some.

Sorri, I forget at this time which on is the relay for it.

That fixed mine.
