fresh air blower problems

I'm putting my fresh air blower back in the car and I'm having some trouble getting it to work. I'm only gettin juice to teh red and white wire out at the motor end. I checked the hanes manual for which fuse it'd be and I checked some other stuff on that fuse and they're all working. I checked all the connections under the dash and they seem to be ok. I don't know where the ground is for everything. Is anything else supposed to be hot? Any help is greatly appreciated.

and what exactly do all the controls do. I only had my car for a couple days before I tore it all apart and I don't know what each of the levers are supposed to do.

You need to check out the control assembly. Notice that the ash tray is right above it - the ashes tend to fall down onto the control assembly and cover up the contacts. Clean them up and it'll get good current to the motor.

the top slider is the motor control, half way opens up the vents to the fresh air assembly and then the fan kicks in. It has three speeds, really low, low and then loud (at least mine does). Be sure to mark what goes where when you take it apart - you need to put it back together correctly or the sliders won't do what you need them to do.

I didn't take apart the controler part. I already went through the contacts on by one and cleaned em all and made sure everything was tight. Didn't do anything....

ok... I got the light for the defrost thing workin, but still nothing else. I had a wire running from the moving arm on the switch to the middle prong on the switch. My wiring diagram says the green and white wire's supposed to be hooked up to one of em, but I found it cut off and laying somewhere else. Is this switch a ground switch or a hot switch? Seems like a ground one.

ok never mind. I just traced everything out and cleaned all of the connections and now I've got high and low and my middle speed doesn't work at all.... all I really need is high and low any way.

I just replaced my fresh air blower with new motor assembly for $100. There is only one electric plug. I unplugged it and plug it back. Your design might be different than mine.

ya there's only one plug, but there's four connections in that plug. To test it I tore the end off and grounded out each of the speeds. Middle speed didn't work, but the others are fine. I'm good with what I've got for now.
