did my fuel pump go out?

ok... started my '74 2.0 w/carbs Sunday night to time it and (try to) synch the carbs...

As usual, as soon as I turn the ignition on, I hear the clik-clik-clik of the facet fuel pump. It started... Everything was fine.

Next day I go to start, and no clik-clik, and no start.

Would the fuel pump fuse and relay be in the same spot as when it had FI? (which I think is on the relay board in the engine compartment - is there both a fuse and relay? Which round relay is it? I have 4 and I don't know any of them - I've looked at the schematic and I'm still clueless)

Can I run a hotwire from the battery to the pump, bypassing the fuse/relay, to see if it cranks?

TIA.
robster.
