mee too! Even though I have to work on it too much, I always feel good when I'm driving it.

THIS CAR HAS TAKEN OVER TWO GARAGES MY WALLET MY SANITY AND BEATEN ALL OTHER PREVIOUS HOBBIES INTO SUBMISSION. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY

I used to spend all my money on other things, like uhh, lesse, my mortgage, food................

I drove it to work today - 55 degrees, mostly cloudy, roof off, heat on.

Guy in a Miata going the other way stared at me, his top was up.

It's gonna be sunny and 70 at lunchtime, and it's Friday.

Going into southern tier to ride dirtbikes tomorrow, wishing the whole time I was driving the 914 through the little country roads with the top off.
...........So I'll go back on Sunday.

Just a few random thoughts

Ahhh - an old, but newly described syndrome.....914 poor. I can relate. And I'm going to get poorer before I finally get on the road.

Do you really think it's ugly? There are a couple Miatas on my street and they are boring to look at, IMO.

I don't, But overheard a couple of guys talking @ a cruise in one night. The discussion was on how ugly my car was and the motor was in the wrong place...One guy commented that it really is a bastard design... They both drove 5.0 mustangs...

Do I think it is ugly? It's no Mura, Atlantic or GT 250 but it is the best looking car I own.

Ugly Bastard is just a nickname sorta like Lil Bastard...

I'll always drink to Toast!!

As for the Rustang drivers commenting that the engine is in the wrong place.... Uhhh... LOL!!! Yeah, it's the wrong place if you wanna carry a lot of groceries. Or a pack of carpet rodents. But it's the absolute best place if you want the car to handle. Next best is the rear of the car, a la our "lesser" 911 brethren. Up front, well...

Hey, the Mustang is a great-handling car--for one with the engine in the worst location, with a parts-bin suspension (one from here, one from there...) with really crappy geometry, and a live rear axle. At least it's got a lot of grunt.

I love the Miata comparisons ... my brother drives one, so I send him links to those posts.

BTW, he says the guy that had the top up in the 55 degree weather isn't a true miata driver. Whatever ...

In upstate NY - 55 degrees is practially summer.

In Socal, 55 degrees during the middle of the day occurs, maybe in January, on a bad year, when it's cloudy...
