First Race With Six Lessons

Last weekend went well at Willow Springs with the new six engine and I learned several things:
"X" is too high for a 2l engine, "V" will be much better since I was coming out of turn 9 at 7400 RPM and the shift to 5th was dropping way too much RPMs. At the end of the front straight I was barely back to 6200 RPMs. A six has to get warmer than the four or it just isn't happy. The Rennshift worked fantastic, never missing a shift the whole time. We mounted the puke tank too low and had a low point in it which caused it to fill with oil. That has been corrected and we used a larger vent from the dry sump tank to the puke tank also. But I won my class and it was a good end to the year of racing!

I'm working on that. The speedo is not hooked up and probably would not be accurate anyways so I have put the muffler back on and will do a test run tonight with my Garmin GPS unit to get accurate MPH readings in each gear at a fixed RPM (3000 probably). I did this last night with my daughter's 914 and it has a non stock gear setup and it worked out to A, E, J, P, W which is far from stock??!! This might be the gear setup for the six??

cool,

I'd love to know what you find.
I'm contemplating gears for my 2.0 vintage/6 project also.
