SS exhuast ? ; What do I have here ?

I bought these on the internet about year ago. They advertised as 914. So I never compared them to the car.
But look what I have. The box is correct. But the tail pipes are too long and bent up.
What are these for ? Any thoughts on making them fit ?

You have 1.7L heat exchangers. I believe you could use them on a 2L with a 1.7 muffler and muffler hanger.

i think they also fit 1.8. mine are like that.

Yup. Those are 1.7 (also 74 1.8) SSIs, which are NLA and have been for a year or more.

What you should do to make them fit is sell them on evil-bay, then use the proceeds to buy a 2.0 set. From Pelican, naturally!! ;)

Or trade them with someone who has a 1.7 or 74 1.8 and wound up with 2.0 SSIs.

I'll put them on my 1.7 car. It started out to be a $1k driver.
Funny how that works. :( :(. But I'm having fun.

Did SSI use the same size tubing on the 1.7 heat exchangers as on the 2.0's? As I understand, the factory used smaller diameter tubing on the 1.7 as opposed to the 2.0.

Mike, that's correct. The factory used smaller pipe on the 1.7s, but SSI used the 2.0 sized pipe on their 1.7 heat exchangers.
