Adjusted my valves today

I have to admit I am quite proud of myself. The engine was ratling quite bad for the last few weeks and I found that the intake valve on Cyl. No. 3 had about .35MM of clearance. After adjusting it back to .15MM the rattling is gone and everything look OK. Should I worry about it ? The lock nut wasn't loose or anything but the retaining clip that seem to hold everything in place was out of its groove .

Just keep an eye on it. Or an ear. I would check the valves again at the next oil change, and make a note if anything is much out of spec.

Doing my first valve adjustment was not only fun, but very satisfying. It's up again next month...memo to self - buy beer but not too much

There are offset box wrenches and special feeler gauges with curved handles available to make the valve adjustment job easier.
