fuel pump

what is the pressure that the fuel system in the '72 1.7 runs at? and what is the purpose of the rubber mounts on the fuel pump? is it to isolate the ground?

I believe that the fuel pressure for a 1.7 liter that has fuel injection should be around 30 psi. Not exactly sure what the rubber mount is for but my guess would be somewhat of a shock absorber so it doesn't beat the fuel pump to death. Do you have your fuel pump in the front or below the engine. Isn't there a ground wire running to the fuel pump also? Anyways, I don't think the rubber mount serves for isolating the ground.

If I am wrong, hopefully someone will lead you in the right direction.

The Haynes manual says fuel pressure I think for a 2.0 should be about 29-32 psi.

rubber mounts are for isolating vibration only not electrical ground
