Question Engine Number

I've got the following number on the engine, in front of the oil filler: 5573 AP - 366727. What does this tell me, if anything? Thanks.

To me it says it is a rebuild and maybe it is a converted bus case. This is just a guess.

According to http://www.tunacan.net/t4/reference/case.htm , the "AP" code engines were used in the 74-75 Bus. They are noted as being European only, having dual carbs, and making 68 HP.

There is probably a block-off plate on the front of the motor at the lower-left corner. Does it have a standard 914 dipstick?
