leaky head
This sounds lame to me. I'm putting the motor back together, stalled on the rocker geometry, and I noticed that theres a bit of oil dripping from where the cylinder hits the head. I lapped them, no gasket installed. And I'm sure no one uses any sealant between the two. What gives? will this tighten up and seal after the engine runs a while?

Hey, I had one of those, but the Doc gave me three shots of penecillin and it cured it.
Heat should cause it to tighten up (hopefully)

So, where's the oil source? I mean how much did you put in there during assembly? Many say put pistons in dry for immediate ring sealing.
BTW, one of the things I discovered when I burned up my motor was the heads were starting to leak. I now believe in Jake's stepping of the cyl tops to the special cut head. |

There was some oil in the cylinders and theres a tiny bit seeping between the cyl and the head.
What does the stepping mean?
