Touch up paint

I'm looking for a source for touch-up paint for my '75 2.0. The color is Ancona Metallic, which is a medium blue metallic.

Does anyone have a source for this? Pelican Parts, perhaps?

Thanks!

Dan

You can check with the local Porsche dealer but the paint codes have changed over the years and it is unlikely they will have any in stock (or be able to order it). I had a paint shop at the dealer try to mix some for me (my car is nepal orange). It is close, but not an exact match. Your best option is to go to a auto paint supply store that will custom mix some touch-up paint for you using original factory paint codes. It is not cheap and you may end up with more paint than you will ever use.

Most high tech body shops in California, where the first poster lives, can mix paint to match anything using a scanner...but....they are mostly two part catalyzing paint...worthless after 2 hours.

Your best bet is go to the local auto parts/paint store and get pre-mixed touch up paint. Take a sliver of of the body paint from a spot that won't matter, hopefully it has not faded, and buy the closest three available... then paint something not on the car and match them...

BTW, as per form, the touch up paint listed in the current AA catalog does not really exist. I ordered some and waited 6 weeks before telling Treadway to cancel the order unless it would ship within 3 days. He cancelled it.

I've only found one shop around here that can match my paint and you're right their minimum qty is a pint, cost is somewhere around $28 I think. That is in a can too, so not very convenient for touch up purposes, but I think you can put it in a spray can.
