Weighed the beast - lead sled
It weighs in at 2,250 lbs with 1/2 tank of gas and without driver. What do you guys think? Chassis stiffener, Mayuer logitunal supports, 3.2, '88 911 front suspension, steel flares. Engine should put out about 230 hp at rear wheels.SmileWavy http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1068571499.jpg

Nice, really sharp looker - and it performs too? What more can anyone ask for?
I like the color/wheels/side stripe and trim too. I can't tell from the picture, what type of spoiler do you have on the front? Cheers! Jeff |
I am at 1908 with 1/2 fuel, no driver. Car has full 8pt cage and fuel cel but 4cyl motor.
At 2250, your car is about what I would expect with full interior and the 6cyl. There are lots of ways to lose weight on your car but that = $. regards, dr |
Take out the stereo, the boom tube, all the insulation, go with fiberglass everything......%^B

Things you can do to reduce weight and not affect appearance...
Fiberglass front and rear hood from Getty Design... (A nice GT copy). (Proably about 30-40 lbs) Tar on the floors, the rubber mat behind the backpad and the firewall pad (I assume this is gone). About 20 lbs or more Also consider... Fiberglass front and rear bumpers (would be black instead of chrome), but would save another 30-40 lbs. I'm doing all the above, but without the longitudinal stiffeners, so I should be under 2200 lbs. |
Sweeeeet.....I almost popped a chub lookin at that. Does anyone make glass doors for 914s?
|
it would look better if it was in my garage
|
You can build a complete 914 out of tubes, and glass, everything is available.
