Genuine Parts and AA

I just made my first and last purchase from AA. The fool that I was ignored all of the advice and got burned anyway. Besides the week it took them to reply to my email unsatisfactorily one question never got answered: what consitutes a genuine part.

For example, I ordered a 3-way brake switch. What I got was a generic looking switch in a plain box that said Certified Original Equipment. BRA marked on the bag tells me it probably came from Brazil.

When you order a part from that place, which I can't recommend, and it's listed as genuine what can you expect to receive?

Exactly what you got ...

And, if you want to get into a TOLL CALL phone arguement to be sent a honest-to-goodness "genuine" part, and want to send the one you received back, GOOD LUCK!!!

Chauk it up to a learning experience, and do your shopping elsewhere ...

I received a curt answer, the 20% restocking fee nonsense and of course I'm out the shipping cost both directions for their misleading business practices if I were to return the items. Not worth it.

do what i did. go to their "jumping" tech forum. register and ask why they misrepresent their products. don't fly off the handle, just be very direct. if you paid via credit card call the company and disallow the charge. then call customer service and tell them the part is hanging on the front door and they need to make arrangements to have it picked up. what was s&h on that tiny item?

$11 to ship two brake switches. I was quoted less on the phone but now looking back they probably skinned me again by only quoting shipping and not "handling".

figure priority mail, under 1lb. $3.65. but $11 isn't too bad. 3 rolled pins was $5 s&h. should have been a 37 cent stamp. sean, are you moving to seattle or is the car?

When I went to pick up parts from their facility, they parts they tried to sell me were worse off than the ones I needed to replace. All I have to say is never order stuff you can't see from them. They will screw you. For example, they wanted to charge me $30 for a fuel tank nut.. Not to mention it was completely cross thredded. Mine was in better shape. They laughed and saide to JB weld it on. Needless to say I didnt buy it. You should of also seen the used spare tire board. Water logged and major bowing.. $50... Yeah right! Wait, lets talk about how the DR. stripped the threads on the Speedo tranny nut.... All of this in one sitting. Just think, I have to drive by that place everyday to school. As for "genuine" Porsche parts, Your not going to get it! Order from Pelican or I can give a list of whos better than AA.

FYI, Its only the "DR" left. The rest of his family quit the company... All new people and he still yells at them. Customers too. Say it in person!

FYI pt-2... They make it month to month now.... They have more return than sales... The lights are even turned off to save electricity....

BB

PLEASE NEVER ORDER FROM THEM! EBAY IS EVEN BETTER!

There is only one older lady there. She maybe still working there. Who else would? There are all new people up front. In the mechanics area, they are the same.
