CV joint socket
Hi folksSmileWavy
Is there a brand/part number for this 12pt dealie to get locally, or do I just call PP? Cheerio Jeff |
many brands. i got an SK brand tool. support this BBS and buy one from Pelican Parts. it is a common VW tool and we are basically VW's, right?:D ;)

If you're gonna order anything else, add it to the order. If not, you can chase down your local Snap-On truck, or go to your nearest VW Bug place. Yes, the Bugs use the same M8 "triple square" bolts as we do (and the 911s do). They usually call it the "CV Joint Socket". Probably goes for about $20--it did about five years ago, when last I checked.

Done and done! One call to PP and I'm on my merry way to axle removal, wheel bearing replacement, engine drop, bruised knuckles, newly discovered profanities......
32 Benjamins and same day shipping to boot. Thanks doods :) Jeff |
$3200?? Ouch, the price has gone up a lot.... ;)
Oh, did you mean 32 Washingtons?? :D --DD |
Hah, yeah you're right! That's more than I paid for my car. It was almost the end of the day here, and I was going into coff-ee-ee with-d-d-d-drawl...

call back or add to your order and add the new locking (schnoor?) washers and cv gaskets. order a few extras. you need them (be safe) and save some shipping costs and time.

I got mine from Auto Zone. OEM Brand, lifetime warranty, and it comes in a set of 4, for $17.99.
I agree with Dave, if your already gonna order something, then get one, but you should be able to find one locally without much problem |
mine was 4 dollars at a bug shop locally
