914 to 911 suspension
Anyone have a parts list for this conversion?
Preferences on parts? Decent price range for a total setup including changing the rears to 5 lug? Any and all help is appreciated. The V-8 is almost back in and the suspension is next! Dave Buckholts |

Thanks. Not a great investigative search on my part. Great info. I'll post pics of the car some day soon.

I did my own conversion and had no problems. Used 74 911 front suspension (you only need the strut/spindle assys and brake rotor/hubs and calipers). $200 from the right buddy. Rears: you need hubs from a 73 or earlier as they had extra bosses for the 5 bolt locations, new bearings and new rotors match-drilled. $225 including studs and machinework. It lookes alot fatter with the 205-60-15 911 wheels on it!

Anyone of the 911 years from '71 on will work but try to find something as new as possible. Try and get the whole thing including the steering rack if you can and just change the complete package out. Also replace all your rubber a-arm bushings out with the "poly-graphite" by weltmeister if you never want to worry about those again. Upgrade to 930 turbo tie-rods and also do the bump steer kit on the front. Pelican should have all this stuff.
On the rear try Brad at: http://www.all914.com I know He and Rich have some 914/6 hubs in their stock. With the V8 engine you may want to upgrade to the 911 rear hubs and stubs with a larger spline, larger CV, and bascially just beefier!... Brad and Rich also have those, if not I do have a set I may be willing to part with. |
