Good day fellow Pelicanites
I believe I've found a local buyer for my 1.7 (he wants to put it in a bus), and I was thinking $450 bucks. Good deal? I'd be keeping my heat exchangers/muffler to sell to whoever wants to fight over them afterwards. It's a '73, with 61000 on it. Rebuilt by PO, one tiny leak from pushrod tube (doesn't make it to floor), good compression, 34ict's, don't know if it's been cammed though, new 009 dizz w/ pointless, rebuilt alternator (or I'll keep that too, I dunno?), and WOW nice red painted tin. It runs great, I tuned it and drove it all summer.I believe I found a complete 2.0 car, and can rebuild the motor from that to replace my 1.7. What does y'all think, hmm? Cheerio Jeff -now looking for coffee............................................ .................................................. .................................................. ..............................................

Man, I bought and sold 2.0L heads last year for $450 and $400 per pair respectively last year. Mike |

400-450 for heads - cool, so if I can get the WHOLE CAR for 500 bucks that's a good deal?
I figure I can sell the rest of the parts to fund my "hope-it-happens 2.0 project".

Scooter... looks like I'll be moving to Roch in a few months, so now there will be someone else out there scouting for those $500 donor cars! Will

IIRC the 1.8L heads are around $400+/-..The 1.8L heads are not as desired so I don't think $400 for 1.8L heads is common.
I sold a 1.8L with FI for $500 a year ago OPPS I just rered your first post Looks like you have a deal on a 2.0L also...$500 is a good price for a 2.0L, just make sure it is not a BUS 2.0L ![]() Best of luck Kerry

My buddy and I are going halves on a complete 914 -500 clams a piece, providing the deal still goes through. We're gonna strip the thing down and scavenge as much as we can, with the hopes of keeping all the parts for spares n' such.
Hey Will98, awesome! Get in touch when you make it back, just don't move back in the middle of the now-yearly-ice-storm, around mid-March. It'll be nice to actually see another 914 on the road instead of in a garage or field.

![]() Oh yeah, I do have weenie little air cleaners for those weenie little carbs, on that weenie little engine.
