Question help put this teen on the road

can anyone tell me what I need to get my high beam and low beams to work. I thing my high beams are on all the time. I need to have them switch from high to low the blue light on the tach. lights up when I pull the switch. Bad relay? Is there a relay that switches the lights from High to low beams?
thanks
ps. if so what is the name of the relay so I can get the right one.

Do a search on "improved electrical diagrams". One of the PPbb miscreants redrew the circuit diagrams provided by PP (not bad really, and needed to compare the "improved diagrams" model to your own year. Get the improved diagrams and look at the circuits drawn out and identified. Sounds like your high beam relay may be bad. It is on the backside of the fuse panel. You will have to take off the two screws holding the fuse panal down, then pull the panal and fuses away from the dash a little. The high beam relay is on the end of the fuse panal that is toward the center of the car. It will be connected to fuses 1 & 2 (l and r low beam) and 3 & 4 (l & r high beam). There have been a lot of posts on this. I know cause I've searched 'em up before, too. Search "high beam" or similar. G'luck.

I noticed when looking at the high beam relay there is big red wire that comes in, but PO jumped it to another post so the big red is going to two different post. I tried to disconnect to see if that would make it possible to switch from high beam to low. no luck

Let me see...

This whole BB helped me through similar issues:
my headlight upgrade , so I'm looking at my notes and stuff from then. If I remember correct like, the HLs get power this way:
thick (12 guage i think) red with white wire comes from the area of the dash light switch (where it ties to a hot lead (all red) switched at the HL switch- pin 15) and goes to High beam relay under fuse panel. From that relay, there is a thick white wire that goes to fuse 1 and 2 (1 & 2 are joined on the fuse panel behind the fuse). Thats high beams, left and right. There is a yellow wire from the same relay to fuses 3 & 4. Thats low beam. Oh yeah, shoulda got a test light or meter befor you lay in here and threw out your back- but get up and go get one. See if power is at fuses 1/2 and 3/4 when switch is switched. Did the PO bypass the relay? The blue/white wire for the little dash indicator light should connect at 1/2 also. There isn't much more to it. I guess I would start at the fuses- turn on HL switch and seee if fuse 1/2 are dead but 3//4 are hot. Flip stalk switch- see if fuse 1/2 goes hot and 3/4 goes dead. Happy hunting....

ordered a new headlight relay from PP, fingers are crossed. This is the last item on my check list before the DMV gets a look at it. I'll be posting again if it doesn't work. sometimes silence is a good thing.
