balancing pressure plate
Is it worth sending the pressure plate and flywheel all bolted together to the machine shop to balance?

Most PP's are pretty well balanced out of the box. But, if you are already sending the flywheel out, by all means, include the PP. Don't forget to keep it indexed the way the shop had it.

I disagree!
On my balance machine crankshafts are the easiest thing to balance, they have a smaller radius. Flywheels, front fans and pressure plates are the worst items that are out when we do components statically. Once its all done statically then its assembled and done dynamically. Yet again due to the diameter the flywheel and pressure plate are yet again the most out when trying to correct the plane. Balancing one or two components individually is a waste, and can MAKE things WORSE. Do the entire assembly, and ensure that who does the work INDEXES all the parts so they can be assembled the SAME WAY they are assembled in the balancer. ELSE THE ENTIRE PROCESS IS WASTED! I won't even build a 36 Horse bug engine without balancing!!
